Obituary for Lillie Mae Chaffin-Haywood
Lillie Mae Chaffin Haywood was born September 29, 1930, in Victoria, Virginia to the late Willie and Allie Jennings Chaffin. She departed this life on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 9:24 a.m. at her home.
She joined the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Victoria, Virginia at an early age under the pastorage of Reverend B.H. Agnew, and attended school in Lunenburg County.
After she graduated school, Lillie moved to Philadelphia, PA where she lived with her aunt for a short period of time. She then moved to New York City where she worked at a zipper factory and later at the telephone company, known today as Verizon, where she retired after thirty-two years of service.
Lillie was preceded in death by five brothers, Willie, LeaRoyal, Garfield, Russell and Davis Chaffin; one sister, Eleanor Chaffin; five sisters-in-law, Sallie, Addie, Rosa, Mary and Francis.
She leaves to treasure her memories: five brothers, Eddie Chaffin, Sr. of Amelia, VA, Cloyd (Cleo) Chaffin, Eugene Chaffin, Walter (Donna) Chaffin and Wavly (Louise) Chaffin, all of Victoria, VA; sisters-in-law, Marie Chaffin of Crewe, VA and Gloria Chaffin of Baltimore, MD; Many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 11:00AM at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 2910 Burkeville Rd., Victoria.
Interment church cemetery.
