Obituary for Eric Pierre Ford
Here he comes...a man who didn't lack faith, has a heart of gold and soul of peace was released from his physical body on November 28, 2023. Eric Pierre Ford aka "Pinto" transitioned to his spiritual home shortly after 8:00 pm on Tuesday after battling several illnesses.
Eric was born March 12, 1961, to Bernard and Martha "Betty" Ford in Nottoway County. As the baby of ten siblings, he is no stranger to hard work, helping others and having patience. Eric was definitely a ladies’ man, but there was only one that had his full attention. It was in the late 1970's when Eric saw a young woman pull a root fresh from the ground. It was in that moment that he knew, and immediately went over to tell little Sandra Bland, "You are going to be the one I marry"! And that is exactly what he did!
Eric and Sandra married on August 21, 1978, and were excited to begin growing their family, welcoming two beautiful baby boys! Shortly after the birth of their children, Allister and Shawn, Eric began his own trucking company to support his family. Through his role as a husband, father, entrepreneur and dedicated friend, his commitment to God grew even stronger. Eric did not find a moment in his life when he wasn't available to minister to anyone that needed him. He was adamant about his assignment to shed light into his family and community.
To you he was simply a giver, but to us he was my husband, our dad, our Papa, he was our entire world! He was the laugh that could be heard from miles away. He was the greatest and he will never be forgotten! Rest in the comfort of your lord, our Pinto.
Eric is proceeded in death by his parents Bernard and Martha Ford. His siblings Levi, Bernard Sr., Theresa, Rose, and Brenda.
He leaves his memories to his loving and dedicated wife of 45 years, Sandra Ford. His two sons Allister A. Ford and Shawn P. Ford. Katrina R. Bland, a niece that was proudly raised as his own daughter. Kanya N. Ford daughter-in-law or affectionately known as "The Lady". Brothers Andrew (Myra), Henry, Tyree (Jeanette). Sisters Velma, Vanessa (Chris). His seven loving grandchildren JahQuelle, Arkasia, Markel, Alicia, Shawn Jr., Leonidas, Eric Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
