Obituary for Bazell Fitzgerald
Bazell Fitgzgerald Jr. “Junie” was born April 19, 1953 in Nottoway County, VA to Katherine and Bazell Fitzgerald, Sr. He departed this life on Friday, January 5, 2024 at Emporia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Emporia, VA.
Bazell attended Nottoway County Schools. At an early age he was baptized at Mt. Gazerine Baptist Church.
Junie worked several jobs, retiring from Schewels and then returning to work part-time for the Town of Blackstone, officially retiring several years ago. He enjoyed riding his bike, and from time to time would try to tell a joke. His favorite saying was “NO JOKE”
Junie was preceded in death by his father, Bazell Fitzgerald, Sr. He is survived by one son, Michael Easter (Marriettie) of Durham, NC; one daughter, LaShawn Fitzgerald of Blackstone, VA; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; mother, Katherine Delories Fitzgerald; two brothers, Rodney of Blackstone, VA and Jerome of Crewe, VA; two sisters, Teresa of Blackstone, VA and Patricia of Crewe, VA; two sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; one uncle, Eddie Edmonds; a dear friend, Debbie West; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Service Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 1:00PM at Mt.Gazerine Baptist Church, Blackstone.
Interment church cemetery.
